Cap Manufacturer UCP opt for Mapex V4 vision to inspect aluminium bottle closures during the manufacturing process at their Bridge Of Allan plant in Scotland.
Mapex Inspection equipment is used extensively in the spirits bottling sector in Scotland where many of UCP’s customers are to be found. It is a natural extension of the drive for quality to inspect components at the point of manufacture. The ease of use, configuration options and the advanced inspection tools available with the Mapex Inspection V4 system make it an ideal system for use at all stages of the supply chain.
Constellation buy two Mapex Inspection FLO laser fill level for wine bottles. These machines were bought to replace two 15 year old Mapex machines.

Following successes in 2007, Chivas Bros, Highland Spring and P&G all buy more Mapex Inspection equipment.
Chivas Bros have purchased an additional Mapex Inspection V4 colour, high definition bottle orientation and label inspection system for Ballantines on line 1 at Dumbarton. This system is to install onto a new Krones labeller for PDI in Germany.
Highland Spring have upgraded fill level and label inspection equipment supplied in 2007 to include filler valve and capper monitoring software on line 2. At the same time they have ordered new fill level, filler valve monitoring and label inspection for line 3 at their Blackford plant.
Proctor and Gamble have upgraded a Mapex Inspection V3 camera orientation system supplied in 2007 to a state of the art V4 system, adding additional functions including bottle damage detection, cap control and controlled rejection. An additional system has been purchased for another line in the factory.
Equipment from the Mapex Inspection “Other Products Portfolio” from Hartness International and Sacmi will be on show at Interpack 2008. Hartness International will be showing the new shrinkwrap machine which compliments their range of fillers, packers and accumulation systems. Sacmi are showing fillers, a modular labelling machine and the new Bag In Box equipment.

Mapex Inspection launch a new controlled rejection system for cases / cartons / crates based upon the highly successful Smart rejector.
Following the sale of >100 non-pneumatic highly controlled Smart reject systems to premium product packagers who are concerned about reject consistency and repeatability, Mapex Inspection have launched the Smart III for larger mass rejection such as cartons, crates or cases. Smart III utilises advanced magnetic technology to provide controlled rejection independent of air supply quality or quantity.
Smart III includes a safety circuit to prevent damage to equipment or product in the event of unexpected loads.

Wm Grants buy fill level inspection for bottling lines at Bellshill and Dufftown.
Chivas Bros. buy equipment for new Beefeater bottling line
After extensive trials, Diageo Shieldhall buy Mapex Inspection equipment for 3 bottling lines. This includes advanced, state of the art, V4 Mapex Inspection label inspection technology for their newest Johnnie Walker line (replacing competitor equipment which is less than 6 months old). The high resolution capability to detect labelling faults on highly decorated bottles coupled with simplicity of use persuaded Diageo to choose to upgrade original equipment supply to Mapex Inspection V4.
